Online Surveys That Pay

Best Survey Sites To Earn Cash:

(Paid via paypal or check)

Global Test Market
This really is a global company with panelists in many countries. Some surveys will offer only entries for sweeps, but most offer a ranged point award, like 5-75 points. The lower number is if you screen out - you at least get something for trying. The higher number is if you qualify and complete the entire survey. Payout level is 1000 points, which is a $50 check. The minimum required age to sign up is 14 years old.
American Consumer Opinion Panel
ACOP sends out email invites offering a few points for completing a few questions to determine your eligibility for a larger study, with the follow-up survey or product test worth more. Most surveys take about ten minutes. They're open to everyone 14 years and older, worldwide. At 1000 points you can cash in for $10. This can be paid by check or via paypal.

I really appreciate that the screeners pay, too. I also like that they're very upfront about what the screener and follow-up survey are worth. That way you know right off the bat you're not wasting your time.
E-Poll
I really like EPoll surveys. I find them among the most interesting, often asking about tv shows, games, and current events. Most surveys longer than five minutes pay at least 500 points. Gift cards and cash at the $5 redemption level take just under 3750 points, which, in my experience, rarely takes long to reach. You can cash out for paypal or gift certificates, including amazon and walmart.
Esearch
Esearch pays through paypal. Some surveys are sweeps only, others pay; you need to watch for which is which. Those that do not offer payment sometimes lead to a paying follow-up survey.
My Survey
Mysurvey also offers points for surveys, now owned by Lightspeed. They pay by paypal cash, amazon gift cards, or items. If you're offered a survey from this company offering only a handful of points for taking it, don't skip it - those are often screeners, which can lead to a better paying survey if you qualify. This company has members all over the world, so check them out, wherever you are.
Opinion Outpost
Of all my survey companies, Opinion Outpost sends me the most survey invites (followed closely by mysurvey). They try hard to match you with work, offering a different survey if you screen out of the one you're trying. You gain an entry to their cash prize drawing for every survey you attempt or complete, in addition to the rewards offered by each survey. They offer a variety of prizes, but of course the two I care most about are Amazon and PayPal. You can cash out for Amazon gift cards as early as the $5 level, or PayPal at $10 (which is 100 points).
Opinion Place
Offers payment through your choice of paypal, Amazon gift certificates, AAdvantage Miles, or sweeps entries. In addition to waiting for emails from this company inviting you to do survey work for them, you can go to the website on your own, and click through a questionnairre to see if they have any surveys to match you up with. It takes a few minutes and may only result in a sweeps entry if it doesn't find anything, but it can be worth a couple of dollars or more if you're lucky.
PaidViewpoint
Paid Viewpoint surveys tend to be quick, usually only 5-6 minutes. Filling in your registration questions earns a few cents per question, which is a fun way to start out. Payout is through PayPal, and the payout threshold is $15.

One way this company differs from others is that they have a meter called a Traitscore. As you answer consistent with your profile and previous answers, your score will go up. This score helps determine the surveys you're offered, and how well you are paid for them, so reading carefully and staying consistent is important.
SurveySavvy
SurveySavvy is one of my best earners because they not only pay per survey, but for the activity of two tiers worth of referrals. While their surveys often only pay a dollar or two, the referral program can really add up. Cash out for a check at any time.
Swagbucks
At 2500 "swagbucks" you can get $25 sent to your paypal, with higher amounts available. $5 Amazon gift cards are attractively priced at 450, if you shop there as often as I do. Both prizes, and many more, are available in a wide range of redemption levels.

Swagbucks offers a variety of ways to earn, including searches, surveys, watching short ads, and playing games. Just click the "Earn" drop-down menu on their front page to see all the different ways.

This site is the easiest place I've ever used to earn, and I have used them for years with no problems getting my credits or payouts.

BONUS code: click "I have a sign up code" while registering and enter WOLFSONG70 to get 70 bonus swagbucks for signing up. (Code is case sensitive, and good until June 21st.)
Synovate
This survey company pays in points and sweeps entries. Points can be exchanged for cash, mailed as a check when you cash out at $5. While their points add up a little slower than some, chances of sweeps wins in addition to your basic points and their habit of offering points for trying to qualify make them worth doing. Their sweeps offer many small to moderate prizes rather than just one or two large ones, which means more winners overall and your odds are better.

Sites That Pay With Gift Cards Or Items

Harris Poll Online
With their points program, you can cash out for gift cards, cds, or other items.
Zoompanel
Offers a points program that allows you to exchange for cds, magazine subscriptions, and assorted items. This is one of my most active survey sites, where I get a lot of product tests.

Online Survey Sites That Pay Kids and Teens

(paying with cash and items)

KidzEyes
For ages 6-12. Accumulate points for cash and win items.
TeensEyes
Same company as KidzEyes, but a sister-site just for Teens 13-18.
Panel Polls
In our experience, these often have to do with Nickelodeon Shows & Kids entertainment, so my kids love them. They have one program for kids ages 3-5, with mom and dad's help, or for parents of kids that age. There's another for kids 6-17. Points earned by doing surveys can be exchanged for cash. 10000 points equals $10.

My three-year-old, five-year-old, seven-year-old, and eleven-year-old have all done work for this company. It pays better than many. All points go into a family account but how they were earned, and whether by parent or children, is shown on the point account page. You can request a check when the family account reaches $10.
Global Test Market
The minimum required age to sign up for this site is 14. They are a global company, serving many countries. I saw a few surveys from this company that offered only a sweeps entry, but most offered a range of points, such as 5-75. That means you'd get at least five points for trying, if you screened out of the survey, but if you were the demographic they were looking for and completed it, you'd get 75 points. Payout level is 1000 points, which would get you a $50 check.

Where To Find More Surveys That Pay

Survey Police
Not all survey sites are created equal. Some charge, others engage in practices that are, at best, not worker friendly, or, at worst, outright scams. Survey Police can help you avoid the worst offenders on your search for new sites. They have bio pages for various survey companies, and a "Rap Sheet" that highlights issues people have had with companies. Their ratings pages are an excellent tool but don't only look at the number, check out the comments on the bio page as well.
